A mother of 3, all under the age of 3 years old and pregnant contacted Wafa House in need for services. The client was fairly new to the states and did not have papers yet. The husband recently passed away and she was left with no financial assistance. She was struggling to figure out how to make ends meet for her young children because she is unable to work, due to her immigration status. Due to the pregnancy, the client also had many medical appointments and bills. The client came to Wafa House very emotional and worried about how she would survive without her husband. We were able to advocate for her and provide food assistance and financial assistance to cover some utility bills. Wafa House continues to also advocate for rental assistance and additional financial assistance.
